Jazz/Tap – 4-6 Grade

4-6 grade Jazz/Tap is a 1-hour class. 30 minutes is spent learning jazz. A strong emphasis is placed on proper technique as the students learn jazz isolations, leaps, turns, floor work and combinations in many styles. 30 minutes is spent learning tap. Students are introduced to a broad range of standard tap technique, as well as, develop coordination, concentration, rhythm, and speed.

What To Wear

It is important for students to wear proper dance attire and shoes so the teacher can critic the dancers’ proper form and alignment and to prevent injury. Long hair is required to be pulled back away from the face. Dangling jewelry is not permitted. Students may wear any color leotard, sports bra, fitted tank, dance pants, hot shorts, etc. with black jazz shoes AND black flat heel tap shoes.
